Hi from Ellen Weaver, Wayne co
WOW.. That will keep you busy
Congrats on the new addition Dustin
Monica Jones, CCS, TSHS
More time planning for teaching, less time actual teaching
Setting goals and basic to-do lists
Yes! No balance right now.
yes more time
I'm plugging through spending 60 - 70 hours a week "IN school."
More than twice as much time! I've learned to keep communication within school hours & an hour before/after school. We are trying hard to divide and conquer
Time management....eat while I work...try not to fall asleep while I'm working
I am spending more time on online planning and helping students to manage CANVAS..
Alexis Van Culin
Less time teaching, more time spent on everything else
On the computer answering questions. Less time teaching the students.
More time on preparations then teaching
Just found out I will be doing football workouts so now there goes 6 more hours
More time spent communicating than preparing lessons
more time on planning
5 weeks in still helping students connect to activities and lessons
Spent more time to answer students about how to navigate Canvas
Plan B for 7th grade
does text expander work well on the ipad?
great! I mainly grade on the ipad
Is this included or is there a personal fee to use?
do you have to open this up daily when you log into canvvas
do you have to open it? or does it happen automatically?
Is it text expander for GC 2?
or the fre one, there are three
Is that in Canvas...or just created somewhere outside...like Google docs
I use comment banks too! :). I use Google Sheets
Do you have a template?
It saves a lot of time! As I switch modules/units, I create a new tab
What is the difference between the question stem and the numbered item?
what is the moderate tab?
You can also add an extra attempt :)
I use Quizzes as a lesson. I put the materials and my video in” space” section in Quiz, then I add multiple choice questions. In the feedback I refer
You can also set a date where they can see the feedback.
How do you set a date?
Yep! :) It’s great for your students who like to work together, when they should be working independently
Copying assignments too!
How do you "retire" an announcement?
Oh! The difference is it has to be open, unlike the assignments which can just be in a module.
THANKS, I just figure that out. THANKS for the tip!
thank you for this!!! will save me tons of time
It’s under edit options. (Not moderate….sorry about that. I use the Moderator options to add attempts). But if you go into edit, scroll down and you’ll see this — https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DAxEtqxz3XDE6KgoVMSSr3hag3xqi_SC/view?usp=sharing
What is an ixl?
But my links seem to become “unattached” when I copy to other courses.
It’s awesome. It allows students to work on 10 free problems a day
The links to outside sources seem to break when you move it to another course
I used a rubric and filled it out...but I still had to input the grade. Is there a way for it to automatically transfer the grade after I fill out the rubric?
If your district has an account, you can give your students a link, and as long as they’re in their account, you can see what questions they completed. It’s great if you are working one-on-one with a student.
grab the 3 dots to be able to see the whole rubric
Depending on you set it up, you should also be able to leave comments on each question criteria box
grab the 3 dots and drag it out
if you create the rubric with assignment, it will automatically graded it. if you attached the rubric ( already made) to an assignment, it won’t automatically grade it.
I used this yesterday. You can link out to a video…make sure you save your comment in a Comment/Feedback doc. Use it for later.
Can you see it larger?
Yes…if you drag the vertical gray bar over, it will adjust and be bigger.
You’re doing great, Dustin! :) This is awesome.
@Melissa, I have to wrap this meeting up
Dustin... if you grab the 3 dots in the middle of the dividing line...you can expand the window for the rubric while you are grading it.
Scheduled a meeting with my room and this webinar. I didn’t know it would conflict
I'm sad that this is your last session
But I have to start the superintendents meeting
Oh, I'd like that routine! :)))

that is awesome- so hard to change to set times
Dustin and Tiffany, Can we wrap up in about three minutes? I am just learning that we have another webinar scheduled to begin in just a few minutes. My apologies for this….there was an issue with scheduling that we were unaware of.
yes super quick
@Sheri, I agree!
Thank you for making the slides available!! So helpful!
Thanks for the ideas.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Here is a link to the webinar survey: https://ncvps.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4MhKfOfvsYfdLE1 The survey is 8 questions long and will only take a few minutes to complete. Please click on the link to complete now, or immediately following the webinar.
Tiffany, I did not get the link to the survey, last night. Is there a way I can get it?
Hey Kelly, it should be the same link.
Thank you so muc
Ok, thanks, so just do it twice?
Thank you! This was great!
time to shift my paradigm
Thank you. Lots of great ideas!
